Dear Friends and Family,

I’m pleased to share the blessings that have been poured upon TBLM recently. For starters, TBLM’s second annual “A Thousand Points of Light” event was a success! On May 31st, 2013, the benefit concert took place in Phoenix, AZ at the 8th Day Coffee shop.  The concert and complimentary art experience was orchestrated by and implemented through combined talents and loving hearts of Tobie and Lara Milford.  The event’s focus was to provide an opportunity for local artists to come together and use their gifts and abilities unto the Lord and to offer exposure to the Thin Blue Line Ministry.  The night was a success for multiple reasons.  The music, poetry and artwork offered were a blessing to the community and were a beautiful reflection of the passion, creativity and heart that TBLM strives to serve others. Funds were raised to help support the Thin Blue Line 2013 trip to Honduras.  And lastly, a blessing that is often invaluable was the opportunity to connect with people, spread the mission of TBLM and share God’s work of healing and restoration.  Thank you for everyone’s support and participation.

Another encouraging update is that the new TBLM webpage is officially up and running. Thank you so much to Andrew Runkle for his hard work! His efforts and skill set are an awesome addition to the TBLM team.  Please check out the new website at www.mytblm.com.  We will continue to build the site in the coming months, and will alert you to new components and additions as we go.

Next, we are excited about our annual mission trip to Honduras that is taking place July 27th-August 3rd. Our first of three team trainings will be held June 16th; we have some great volunteers, trainers and participants getting involved for the summer trip! Also, we are happy to announce that we’ve been blessed with a new opportunity to join an organization called “Point of Impact- Honduras” this year. Point of Impact has been in Honduras for the past 20 years serving the underprivileged in Honduras.  This ministry started with a single feeding center and now has built up to four. The feeding centers provide educational opportunities, recreational activities, and some medical support in addition to food. Each center is connected to a local church. In addition to their feeding centers, they have established an orphanage. Our team will be visiting Point of Impact’s orphanage during our summer trip to minister to the kids and direct-care workers.

One of our goals when ministering at the orphanage is to use an integrative arts curriculum that assists caregivers with tools for creating an environment of healing and safety when working with their traumatized children. The curriculum helps create a safe, calm environment and through the process of working with art, to help children deal with trauma and stress in their lives without reliving the events. Our team will also use games and activities to build relationships with the children while teaching the story of Joseph from the Bible. Genesis 50:20 tells us that what the enemy means for harm, God uses for good, to accomplish His perfect will and to save others. For a staff and an orphanage full of children who have experienced the world doing them great harm, we hope to bring this message of hope, truth and healing into their lives.  Our prayer is that we would be vessels of love, light, and hope, bringing relief and support to the children and adults that we will be working alongside this summer in Honduras.  This year’s team members are: Andrea and Mimi Crook, Brandon and Dale Hodgeson, Mikaelah Fowle and Wes Baker. Please keep us in your prayers. If you would like to support this trip you can send your donations to:

Lastly, we have some uplifting news from  Ken Hodgeson. As stated previously, Ken is taking a year off from travels to Honduras and has been faithful in what God has asked of him in the meantime. Currently, he is working on four major journals from trips past that are filled with testimonies of God’s power, miracles and movement. He is excited to share these with TBLM’s faithful supporters and is due to release the first one soon.  During his time away from Honduras, Pastor Ken has been blessed with the ability to study the Word of God more and is using this time to meditate and pray on what God has for him, what capacity he will be used in the ministry in the future, and how God would have him move forward with TBLM when he returns. He has also been able to nurture old contacts while creating new ones and the Lord has been faithful to continually restore both his body and his mind as He prepares him for future use.

Join us in praising God for his blessing on TBLM!
